Nuestra Historia

	
How it began &#124;&#124; Cómo empezó
Where we are now &#124;&#124; Dónde estamos ahora

	At the age of twenty three - a decade and continents apart - two adventurous souls left their rainforest homes (Manizales, Colombia and Gimuy/Cairns, Australia) and journeyed to the United Kingdom in pursuit of their dreams. In 2016 (London) their trajectories aligned and a new world began to unfold around them.


We had found each other. Just about as far from our origins as either of us could travel, we found each other!

And for the best part of a decade now, our lives and hearts have been growing together - not as one, but as two fiercely tender, distinct spirits who continuously choose one another. Who lovingly make and hold space - again and again - for each other’s dreams, desires, differences and vulnerabilities, while holding one another accountable for the thoughts, words and actions that shape our shared experience.


In March 2024, swimming naked in the sea surrounding Goong-Gan-Jee / Fitzroy Island off the coast of Gimuy / Cairns (Australia), Matteo proposed and Benjamin said yes… 

	A los veintitrés años, separados por una década y continentes, dos almas aventureras dejaron sus hogares en la selva (Colombia y Australia) y viajaron al Reino Unido en busca de sus sueños. En 2016 (Londres), sus trayectorias se alinearon y un nuevo mundo comenzó a desplegarse a su alrededor.

Nos habíamos encontrado. ¡Casi tan lejos de nuestros orígenes como cualquiera de los dos podía viajar, nos encontramos!

Y durante casi una década, nuestras vidas y corazones han crecido juntos, no como uno solo, sino como dos espíritus profundamente tiernos y distintos que se eligen el uno al otro constantemente. Que con amor crean y sostienen espacio, una y otra vez, para los sueños, deseos, diferencias y vulnerabilidades del otro, mientras que nos responsabilizamos mutuamente de los pensamientos, palabras y acciones que moldean nuestra experiencia compartida.

En Marzo de 2024, nadando desnudos en el mar que rodea la isla Goong-Gan-Jee / Fitzroy frente a la costa de Gimuy / Cairns (Australia), Matteo le propuso matrimonio a Benjamin y él dijo que sí…

	As we continue to chart our life together, two sentiments have remained steady beacons. Guiding lights across the years:


Love and Tranquility.


More than mere words, these have become a mantra. A shared promise. They form both the foundation upon which we are building our life, as well as the compass by which we navigate it. Everything else we seek - every trajectory we set - is made possible by returning to these values, time and time again.

Never to be taken for granted, we acknowledge these intentions as an embodied process, a shared practice - a living pledge. &#38;nbsp;


To honour this is to honour each other, and that is our ultimate purpose leading into this celebration and beyond.


Having shared this with you, it would mean the world to us if you would join us - to bear witness - and help usher us into the next era of our lives together...

	A medida que seguimos trazando nuestra vida juntos, dos sentimientos han permanecido como faros constantes; faros que nos han guiado a lo largo de los años:
Amor y Tranquilidad.
Más que simples palabras, se han convertido en un mantra. Una promesa compartida. Ellas forman tanto la base sobre la que construimos nuestra vida como la brújula con la que la navegamos. Todo lo demás que buscamos, cada trayectoria que trazamos, es posible cuando regresamos a estos valores una y otra vez.
Nunca dandolo por hecho; reconocemos estas intenciones como un proceso entrelazado, una práctica compartida, una promesa viva.
Honrar esto es honrarnos mutuamente, y este es nuestro propósito final que nos guia hacia esta celebración y más allá.
Habiendo compartido esto con ustedes, significaría muchísimo que se unieran a nosotros para dar testimonio y para acompañarnos a entrar en la próxima era de nuestras vidas juntos...

	Many of you will be undertaking substantial journeys to be with us, and for this we thank you. 


We have listed some information and advice below to support the planning of your journey:


International Travel
(Origin -&#38;gt; Bogotá):


• Please consider booking your travel arrangements as soon as you can in order to secure the best costs of travel. El Dorado International Airport, Bogotá is the most appropriate arrival port. Please ensure you allow adequate connection time between arrival in Bogotá and onward internal travel to Manizales.


Internal Travel 
(Bogotá -&#38;gt; Manizales):
• Flying between Bogotá and Manizales will be your easiest option, arriving at Aeropuerto La Nubia. Depending on weather, your flight may be rerouted to Pereira, this can happen on occasion. If it does, simply let us know and we will support you to book a taxi from Aeropuerto Internacional Matecaña, Pereira to Manizales (approximately an hour drive).


• Upon arrival in Manizales, we request that guests arrange their own airport transfers to guest accommodations. • We have arranged a shuttle service between guest accommodations and the Celebration Venue, across the 9th, 10th and 11th of October. • If you are planning to join us in the Caribbean from the 12th onwards, more information regarding this leg of our time together can be found here.

• Volar entre Bogotá y Manizales será tu opción más fácil, llegando al Aeropuerto La Nubia. Dependiendo del clima, tu vuelo podría ser desviado a Pereira; esto puede ocurrir ocasionalmente. En tal caso, simplemente avísanos y te ayudaremos a reservar un taxi desde el 
  Aeropuerto Internacional Matecaña de Pereira, hasta Manizales (aproximadamente una hora de viaje).

• A tu llegada a Manizales, solicitamos que los huéspedes organicen sus propios traslados desde el aeropuerto hasta su alojamiento.
• Hemos organizado un servicio de transporte entre los alojamientos de los huéspedes y el lugar de celebración, durante los días 9, 10 y 11 de Octubre.

	We are very excited to welcome you to Manizales! 

At 19:00 on Friday the 9th of October we have made arrangements to receive guests at the Celebration Venue for a welcome dinner, and request that all guests arrange their personal itineraries to align with this, please.
This will allow us a moment to connect, and for guests to orient themselves a little prior to the ceremony, the following day.&#38;nbsp;


• Please let us know via RSVP if you will not be joining us for dinner.


We have arranged a timed shuttle service between the Celebration Venue and guest accommodations (scoll for more information) across the days of the 9th, 10th and 11th of October.

	As queer people, we are given a gift - our lives are not bound by normative thought, tradition, or morality.&#38;nbsp;
If we so choose, each and every act of our existence may be one of creation: orchestrations of new identities, communities, and alternative ways of thinking, feeling, and being in the world - including this celebration.
From a very young age we are taught that as we are - we do not fit (nor can we fit) into the world around us.
But this is a myth - we fit perfectly.
Deeply attuned to universal artistries of creation, we are often skilled in manifesting our every desire and need - including our own rituals, rites of passage, and ceremonies…
On the tenth day of the tenth month,
As the sun sets and the new moon rises in Libra,


Balanced on the Equator we shall (re)declare our love,Light a fire,
Cross a threshold,
And begin our life together anew.

On the day of the ceremony, a light breakfast (09:00-12:00) will be available at guest accommodations. We politely request that guests arrange their own lunch-time meal on this day.The ceremony will take place at sunset - 18:00 sharp.&#38;nbsp;Dinner will be served at 20:00, after the ceremony reception - followed by drinks, music and dancing until late.&#38;nbsp;
A timed shuttle service will operate throughout the day.
	Como personas cuir, recibimos un regalo: nuestras vidas no están limitadas por el pensamiento normativo, la tradición o la moralidad.
Si así lo elegimos, cada acto de nuestra existencia puede ser un acto de creación: la orquestación de nuevas identidades, comunidades y formas alternativas de pensar, sentir y estar en el mundo - incluida esta celebración.
Desde muy pequeños nos enseñan que tal y como somos no encajamos (ni podemos encajar) en el mundo que nos rodea.
Pero esto es un mito -&#38;nbsp;Nosotros encajamos perfectamente.
Profundamente en sintonía con el arte universal de la creación, a menudo somos hábiles para manifestar todos nuestros deseos y necesidades - incluidos nuestros propios rituales, ritos de paso y ceremonias...

El décimo día del décimo mes,

Mientras el sol se pone y la luna nueva sale en Libra,

En equilibrio sobre el ecuador, (re)declararemos nuestro amor, 

Encenderemos un fuego,

Cruzaremos un umbral,

Y comenzaremos nuestra vida juntos de nuevo.
El día de la ceremonia, se servirá un desayuno ligero (de 9:00 a 12:00) en el alojamiento. Les pedimos amablemente que preparen su propio almuerzo.La ceremonia tendrá lugar al atardecer, a las 18:00 en punto.

	On Sunday the 11th of October, a light breakfast will be available at guest accommodations. As guests begin to checkout of their accommodations, we have made arrangements to receive you between 11:00 and 14:00 at the Celebration Venue. • A light brunch will be available at the Celebration Venue between 11:00 and 14:00
Upon arrival at the Celebration Venue, guests will be able to relax, plan/finalise onward travel arrangements and make their final salutations to other guests and the wedding party.

As you can tell from the majority of our photographs - we are most happy in the mountains, forests, and on the beaches of our beautiful planet.


Post ceremony - having spent some time together in mountains and forest - we would love for you to join us in the Caribbean for 4 nights at the beach, so we can spend a little more time together in one of our other favourite environments. 


We are yet to finalise the exact location for this, but:
 
• The plan is that we will book into accommodations somewhere in the Colombian Caribbean for the nights of the 12th, 13th, 14th &#38;amp; 15th - and depart on the 16th of October. We will have finalised plans regarding this leg of our time in Colombia in early 2026. We will contact you again then with this information.&#38;nbsp;

Como pueden ver en la mayoría de nuestras fotografías, somos más felices en las montañas, los bosques y las playas de nuestro hermoso planeta.
Después de la ceremonia, tras haber pasado tiempo juntos en las montañas y el bosque, nos encantaría que nos acompañaran en el Caribe durante 4 noches en la playa, para que podamos pasar un poco más de tiempo juntos en uno de nuestros otros lugares favoritos.
Aún tenemos que decidir la ubicación exacta para esto, pero:• El plan es reservar alojamiento en algún lugar del Caribe Colombiano para las noches del 12, 13, 14 y 15 - y partir el 16 de Octubre.
Habremos ultimado los planes respecto a esta etapa de nuestro tiempo en Colombia a principios de 2026. Nos pondremos en contacto contigo nuevamente con esta información.
